Book 3 Cover + Title Announcement!

Ta-daaaaaaa! My editor has book 3 in her hands and I’ve created the cover for the third instalment of Molly Miranda’s adventures. What do you think?

It actually reminds me of Harley Quinn—the cartoon version, not the sexy Margot Robbie version.

I am already working on my fourth book. However, it’s unrelated to Molly Miranda. I’m not quite ready to announce what this new project is yet. Maybe in a few months after the above bad boy gets released.

Molly Miranda: Thick as Thieves is HERE!

MM2-TAT-web copy 4The sequel is here, the sequel is here!

Okay, so, the paperback isn’t available EVERYWHERE just yet but it’s available for purchase on Amazon in the US, UK and Germany. I expect it to be available in Canada and other countries in a few days.

In case you missed it, here’s the book blurb for Thick as Thieves:

Molly Miranda is back for more hilarious and exciting adventures in professional burglary.

This time, Molly is thrown into the high-stakes world of art theft. She and Rhys, her partner-in-crime, travel to France to steal a priceless work of art with the help of a new business connection—an artist with her own set of unique skills.

But drama is also brewing back in New York. Molly’s younger sister shows up at her door for a tumultuous visit. Ruby, Molly’s best friend, is head over her heels for a police officer who suspects there’s more to Molly than meets the eye.

Relationships have never been easy for Molly but things get extra tricky in Paris, the most romantic city in the world. Will Molly and Rhys finally master the art of love?

Clean Reader and the Art of Swearing

Update: Good news from the front lines! You can stick your ******* Clean Reader app up your ****: Authors’ backlash forces Christian couple to remove all ebooks from app that bleeps out all the naughty words has all the details.

I’ve been meaning to do a blog post about swearing in fiction for a while. Molly Miranda: Thief for Hire is about a twenty-something criminal so giving her a potty mouth seemed like the natural thing to do. Most of the swearing she does is in her head and used for comedic effect.

I’ve had very few complaints about the swearing. These people didn’t have a problem with Molly being a criminal though. This amuses me.

And that’s FINE. You can’t please everyone. People who mind swearing and sex in their reading material are not my target demographic. I realize that I may be shutting out some potential readers by including swearing and a bit of sex in my books. My book wouldn’t be my book without swearing and the occasional sex joke.

And then, just this morning, Twitter exploded.

Look ma, I’m in a bookstore!

Well, technically I’m not in a bookstore. I’m actually in front of my computer at home, blogging about how my book Molly Miranda: Thief for Hire can now be purchased in a bookstore.

Cool, huh?

You can now purchase Molly Miranda: Thief for Hire at Bookmark in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, my bookstore of choice. I want to thank the awesome owners for this wonderful opportunity. 🙂

Guardian + the Cadre

Last Saturday, The Guardian photo from my book launch earlier this month. (I really like this photo.)

On Monday, The Guardian featured an interview between myself and entertainment reporter Sally Cole. You can read that article here.

On Friday, UPEI’s newspaper The Cadre featured an interview between me and student Vanessa Chew. You can you check that out here.

I have something big cookin’ up for later this month and early February that I’m very excited about. I also have some news about where my book can be found, but I want to get all my ducks in a row before I make the official announcement.

Meet Molly’s Men

I’ll admit it: there’s a subtle romantic subplot in Molly Miranda: Thief for Hire.

Near the beginning of the book, Molly “accidentally” sleeps with her charming roommate, Nathan “Nate” Bryant, a waiter who dreams of becoming a full-time comic book artist. This complicates their relationship because, obviously, he doesn’t know she’s a professional contract burglar.

As soon as she is given the opportunity to get away from the post-hookup awkwardness, she meets another guy. Rhys is a suave, smartass Scot who seems to “get” Molly pretty well. In fact, he’s a thief too. Things go swimmingly until Rhys proves himself untrustworthy…

You can learn more about Nate and Rhys in Molly Miranda: Thief for Hire, available on paperback, Kindle, Kobo and iBooks. Or you can add it to your To Reads list on Goodreads.

Obligatory Pre-Publication Post

That post title might not be entirely fair, considering my paperback has technically been available for over a week and my Kindle ebook has been available in the UK for over two hours. (Time zones. What are ya gonna do?)

These past few months have been so insane. I want to give extra thank-you’s to Colby, Mom and Dad, Grandma, Colleen and the guys from work who have been so very patient with me while I freaked out, panicked, stressed and/or doubted this whole thing. I want to thank the many people who have purchased signed copies from my online store and the people who made pre-orders. Thumbs up, you guys. Thumbs up.

I also want to thank these lovely people for their fantastic reviews of the book. Love, love, love. Love.

I also want to thank Liberty for having me over for a guest post on her blog.

The Goodreads giveaway is over (1148 entries!) but you can still win my book and lots of others during this massive Valentine’s Day book giveaway event. You can also add Molly Miranda: Thief for Hire to your To Read list on Goodreads!

I’m so excited to get back to writing the Molly Miranda sequel and maybe get my head back into the wedding planning space. (I should probably focus on that at least a little bit before the big day in September…)

P.S. I turned 27 on Tuesday. So far, my late 20s aren’t looking so bad. 🙂
