And my next book is… written! Well, the first draft is written anyway. I finished it about half an hour ago and I’m so happy I got it wrapped up before the holidays got crazy. Hurray!
Now that the hard part is over—and yes, I do consider writing the first draft of a book the hard part but some writers disagree with me—I’m happy to announce what the book actually is.
And yes. I did in fact design the cover before I finished writing the damn thing. I’m a bookish designer. Of course I designed the cover way ahead of time.
(For those of you who aren’t aware, I blog about history at The Lazy Historian.)
The Lazy Historian’s Guide to the Wives of Henry VIII is a cheeky, short-ish look at the six women who were unfortunate enough to be married to Henry VIII. Each chapter focuses on one woman and I didn’t dig too much into things that didn’t involve the wives specifically.
I’ve wanted to write this book for a long time. And now I have.
It was quite a jump, making the transition between a fun action/comedy novel trilogy to a non-fiction book that doesn’t have a happy ending. I have two more non-fiction projects planned but I have another novel rolling around in my head too.
I don’t know how long it’ll take me to get this bad boy edited but I’ll keep you updated.
Edit: You can learn more about the book over here.
